Jan Albert JOHNSON Sr.

Jan Albert JOHNSON Sr., 69, of Geneva, Alabama, died Thursday, June 30, 2016.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Providence United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva.

Mr. JOHNSON was born Dec. 21, 1946, in St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of Harold Davis and Helen Alberta McCALLISTER JOHNSON. He married Sharon HISER 33 years ago.

Mr. JOHNSON was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was an accomplished silversmith and rockhound.

He served with the U.S. military during the Vietnam era, as a combat medic.

Survivors include: his wife, Sharon of Geneva; one son, Jan A. JOHNSON Jr. and wife Laura of Geneva; three grandchildren; one brother, Chris JOHNSON Sr. of Fairfield; and two sisters, Sylvia McGUIRE of Keosauqua and Janel DOZEAL of Des Moines.
