Shirley M. HEISEL

Shirley M. HEISEL 80, of Troy, Missouri and former resident of Lockridge passed away on Friday, July 1, 2016, at her daughter's home in Troy, Missouri.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Glasgow Cemetery rural Lockridge with Rev. Earl Swigart officiating. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Glasgow Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the O.A.T.S. Inc. of Missouri and to the Glasgow Cemetery in her memory.

Shirley was born on June 2, 1936 in Brighton, Iowa the daughter of Myrl & Opal DeWOLF LEMLEY. She graduated from West Chester High School in the class of 1954, and was united in marriage to Gerald L. HEISEL on August 15, 1958, at the First Christian Church in Fairfield; he preceded her in death on October 31, 2010. Shirley had worked at Parcells Grocery in Fairfield, the McCreery Calendar Factory in Washington, Fairfield Glove and was a cook at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield. She helped her family care for several cemeteries and church yards. Shirley enjoyed working puzzles, reading, bird watching, playing cards, traveling, playing bingo and spending time with her family. She enjoyed crocheting and had donated many Afghans to various hospitals. She was a member of the Fairifeld Eagles Club and had attended the Lockridge Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children; Cindy (Paul) BOLTE of Troy, Missouri and Doug HEISEL of Batavia, one grand-daughter; Jessica (Roy) BROCKMAN and one great grandson; Logan BROCKMAN all of Waldron, Arkansas; one sister; Mary Jane DAVIDSON of Fairfield.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and an infant daughter, Sherry Lyn HEISEL.
