Death of Peter BRUEY.

Peter BRUEY was born at Belford, France, March 27, 1835, and died at his home in Cedar township Oct. 5th. He came to the United States in 1853 and to Jefferson county in 1858. He was married in his early manhood to Mary KLOPFENSTEIN, who preceded him to the spirit world by many years. Two children of this marriage are survivors of their parents. They are: Mrs. Simon BLOUGH, of Jefferson county, and Mrs. Joseph ROTH, of Washington county.

In 1871 he was again united in marriage to Philomen MARIE (sic - MARIES), who, with five children, survives him. The children are: Mrs. F. M. RAIBLE, Mrrs. Geo. DROZ and Maggie, Peter and Louie, who are still in the old home. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at Cedar Chapel with Rev. H. C. Littleton in charge of the services and the remains laid to rest in the nearby cemetery.

Mr. BRUEY was among the pioneer settlers of Cedar township and since coming to the county in 1858 has made his home there with the exception of a few years spent in Nevada. He was well known as a sturdy, industrious farmer, a good citizen and neighbor, kind husband and loving father and the bereaved family have the sympathy of neighbors and friends.
