John Charles Pierson

John Charles Pierson, 92, of Osseo, Minn., and formerly of Lockridge, died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004, at Berkshire Residence in Osseo.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Upland Cemetery south of Lockridge with the Rev. David Franker officiating.

Family visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to First Augustana Lutheran Church in Lockridge or American Cancer Society.

Mr. Pierson was born Sept. 8, 1912, near Stockport, the son of John E. and Phrona A. Anderson Pierson. He married Bonnie Jean Gruver March 2, 1952, in Monmouth, Ill. She died Sept. 27, 1988.

He lived 77 years in the Lockridge area. He was a 1930 graduate of Lockridge High School. After retiring from farming, he moved to Wisconsin in 1989, then followed his son Steven to Osseo.

He was a member of First Augustana Lutheran Church. In addition, he had been a member of Odd Fellows since 1934.

Survivors include two sons, Norman Pierson and wife Kathleen of Ocala, Fla., and Steven Pierson of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; and one granddaughter.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one infant daughter; one infant grandson; two brothers, Clarence Pierson and Edgar Pierson; and one sister, Mildred Quick.
