John Henry Kasowski

John Henry Kasowski, 79, of Greenwood, Ind., and formerly of Fairfield, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday at St. Barnabas Church in Indianapolis. A private graveside service was held later at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Barnabas Church, 8300 Rahke Road, Indianapolis, IN 46217.

Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home in Indianapolis is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kasowski was born Nov. 9, 1924, in Fairfield, the son of Frank and Caroline Kurtz Kasowski. He married Flossie Chandler Feb. 19, 1945, in Gulfport, Miss.

He graduated in 1943 from Fairfield High School.

A veteran of World War II, he was a pilot in the Air Force Reserve until his retirement in 1966.

He retired in 1985 from Allison Gas Turbine Division of General Motors.

Mr. Kasowski was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Indianapolis. In addition, he was a member of the Retired Pilots Association and the American Legion post in Greenwood.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Andrew Kasowski and wife Phyllis of Derby, Kan.; one grandson; and one sister, Bertha Kerr of Washington, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Sharon Elizabeth and Nancy Jo; and one sister, Mary.
