Evelyn “Fern” Winslow, 92, of 807 W. Taylor Ave., died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday, April 27, 2003 at Nelson Nursing Home.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Wallarab officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Family visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., preceding the funeral.

Memorials may be made to the Nelson Nursing Home activity fund.

Mrs. Winslow was born Sept. 12, 1910, in Salina, the daughter of Harvey W. and Minnie Johnson Eckwall. She married Eugene C. Winslow Aug. 24, 1940 in Burlington. He died May 11, 1981.

Mrs. Winslow was a lifetime resident of Jefferson County. She was employed at Fairfield Flower Shop as well as being a homemaker.

Survivors include one son, Kenneth E. Winslow and wife Marcia of Cedar Rapids; one grandson; and three great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter; one sister, Shirley; and two brothers, Ervin and Milo Eckwall.
