Beatrice 'Bea' E. HUMMELL

Beatrice "Bea" E. HUMMELL, 83, of Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday, May 15, 2016, at her home in Mt. Pleasant (note: in Henry Co., IA).

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Open Bible Church in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Mike Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Lambirth Cemetery in rural Mt. Pleasant.

Visitation opens at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, where family will be present 6-7 p.m.

Mrs. HUMMELL was born Nov. 3, 1932, in rural Henry County, the daughter of Frank and Berniece SMITH CARVER.

She worked at Henry County Health Center, and later at Staats for 54 years, both in Mt. Pleasant.

She was an active member of Open Bible Church in Mt. Pleasant.

She enjoyed quilting and made many quilts for family and friends.

Survivors include: her daughter, Cheryl BOESE with Bob of Mt. Pleasant; and one sister, Liz KOCH of Spokane, Washington; along with best friend, Lexi.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; two grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Kenneth CARVER, Ron CARVER, Don CARVER, Francis CARVER in infancy, Arnold CARVER, Barbara CARVER CUTTS and Bertha THRASHER.
