Marilyn HENRY STEELE

Marilyn HENRY STEELE, 89, of Fairfield and formerly of Englewood, Florida, died Friday, April 29, 2016, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Len Maselli officating.

The memorial service will be preceded by the family receiving friends from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

A memorial service will be at a later date at Englewood United Methodist Church in Englewood. Inurnment will be at Gulf Pines Memorial Park in Englewood.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Englewood United Methodist Church, 700 E. Dearborn St., Englewood, FL 34223; Attention for the Marilyn Steele to Missions Fund. Online condolences can be made at www.raymondfuneralhomes.com.

Mrs. STEELE was born May 1, 1926, at Ashland, Kentucky, the daughter of Daniel and Stella CISCO HENRY. She married George Edwin STEELE in August of 1946, in Ashland. He preceded her in death.

She grew up in Ashland and lived many years in Greenup, Kentucky, before moving to Englewood. She also had lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, and had been a resident of Fairfield for the past three years.

Mrs. STEELE received her bachelor's degree at Eastern Kentucky University. She was a school teacher in Ashland and Greenup.

She was a very active member of Englewood United Methodist Church. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and performing solos.

She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, active as a 4-H leader, involved in the Farm Bureau, and P.E.O. She helped organize the Kentucky Retired to Florida group.

She and her husband traveled extensively in Mexico over many years and visited most of the states in the United States.

Survivors include: one daughter, Rebecca REEVES and husband John of Fairfield; one son, Steve STEELE and wife Jondia of Amelia, Ohio, her "considered son," Chris STEELE and wife Emma of Toronto, Canada; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: her parents; and one brother, John HENRY.
