Jack Battin, 78, of Monmouth, Ill., died Friday, Oct. 8, 2004.

The funeral was held Tuesday in Monmouth. Burial was in Monmouth.

Mr. Battin was born Feb. 26, 1926, in Fairfield.

Survivors include his wife, Mary, one daughter, two sons, four grandchildren, one brother, one sister, and one sister Helen Angstead of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
