Frank M. KASKA dies at 90

Frank M. KASKA, 90, 310 W. Hempstead, died Saturday at 11:50 p.m. at the Park View Nursing Home in Wellman.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. William Sullivan, the Rev. William Kaska and the Rev. Eugene Benda officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in East Pleasant Plain.

The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Raymond Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Masses or Red Cross Tornado Victims Fund.

Frank M. KASKA was born Nov. 7, 1893, at Pleasant Plain. He was the son of Joseph and Magdalena POHREN KASKA. He was a retired farmer and lived his entire life in Jefferson County. He moved to Fairfield in 1968.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War I. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the American Legion.

His marriage to Helen R. ZAHARRIS took place April 5, 1921, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She survives.

In addition to his widow, KASKA is survived by 13 children: Marion POHLIT, Loveland, Colo.; Ardell KASKA, Fairfield; Marcella GREINER, Washington; Clarabelle DURIAN, Wellman; Walter KASKA, Denver, Colo.; Cletus KASKA, Atallissa; Merlin KASKA, Seattle, Wash.; Lawrence KASKA, Muscatine; Galen KASKA, Bettendorf; Ronald KASKA, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Kay SWAIN, Sarasota, Fla.; Connie STAEBELL, Denver, Colo.

Sixty grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren also survive. KASKA was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters and three grandchildren.
