SAUER Rites On Monday

Dorathy Alberta SAUER, 84, native of Fairfield and former Fairfield business woman, died at 5:50 p.m. at the Nelson Nursing Home. She had been in failing health for some time and seriously ill the past two weeks.

For many years she with her father, the late Phillip SAUER and three brothers, operated the Sauer's Bakery and Restaurant located a half block north of the Square on Court Street. For a number of years she also lived in Ottumwa.

Last rites will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Berg officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Born Nov. 29, 1889, in Fairfield, Dorathy Alberta SAUER was the daughter of Phillip and Albertina PROBAND SAUER. She was reared and educated in Fairfield and was baptized in the First Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. James WELDAY, Fairfield, and Mrs. George GARDNER BARKER, Auburndale, Mass., along with several nieces and nephews.
