Gary C. "Haystack" KESSLER, 58 of Fairfield died Sunday, March 27, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. Following the service at the cemetery, the family invites family and friends to join them for a luncheon and fellowship at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials have been established to Shriners Children Hospitals, The Lord's Cupboard or Noah's Ark animal shelter. Online condolences can be made at www.raymondfuneralhomes.com .
Mr. KESSLER was born Nov. 13, 1957, in Fairfield, the son of William J. "Bill" and Wilma E. WILSON KESSLER.
Mr. KESSLER was a lifetime resident of Fairfield. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1975.
He was a car driver for Fesler Auto Mall and Smithburg Auto. He also mowed lawns and repaired small engines.
He enjoyed fishing and watching pro-wrestling.
Survivors include: two sisters, Joann VAN BLARICOM and husband Paul of Fairfield, and Joyce KNOPP and husband Mike also of Fairfield.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; and two sisters, Marcia and Betty Marie.
