Doyle Eugene CRANE

Doyle Eugene CRANE, 79, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at his winter home in Florida.

The funeral will be noon Saturday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Tim Graham officiating. Burial will be at Lambirth Cemetery in rural Mt. Pleasant (note: in Henry Co., IA).

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home, then again after the cemetery service at Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant for a time of food and fellowship.

Mr. CRANE was born Jan. 27, 1937, in Lockridge, the son of Carroll and Gladyce WILLIAMS CRANE.

He was reared in rural Henry County. His adult life was spent in the Chicago area working in the construction industry as a heavy equipment operator.

Mr. CRANE was a longtime member of First Calvary Pentecostal Church in Illinois.

He enjoyed going to heavy equipment and tractor shows, train museums and the annual Midwest Old Threshers Reunion in Mt. Pleasant.

Survivors include: his wife, Rose of Seneca, Illinois; one daughter, LuAnn HANSON and husband Roger of Monument, Colorado; one sister, Lonna PHELPS of Salem; one son-in-law, Jack HOHIMER; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; one daughter, Rhea HOHIMER; and his stepmother, Marie.
