Mildred V. Droz, age 89, of Fairfield, died at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield.
Born September 10, 1915, at Eldon, she was the daughter of Bert and Sydney Dodds Scott.
Mildred grew up in Eldon and graduated from Eldon High School in 1933. She married Lloyd Albert Droz on May 16, 1937 at Carthage, Illinois. She worked as a clerk at F.W.Woolworth store and Spurgeon's Department Store in Fairfield for many years.
Mildred was a member of the First Christian Church in Fairfield.
She has been a resident of Fairfield for the past 62 years.
Deceased family members include her husband, on February 2, 1987, a daughter Elizabeth Ann Droz, and her parents.
Surviving are her daughter, Sharon Bowman of Fairfield, two grandsons and their families: Raymond and Robi Bowman of Morris, Minnesota and their children Ryan and Emma Bowman; Robert and Sheri Bowman of Fairfield and their daughter Aspen Bowman and their foster children Harley and Dalton Cook; Mildred's brothers and sisters: Dick Scott and La Velle Cramer, both of Ottumwa, Bill Scott of Eldon, Conley Scott of Altoona, Iowa and Olive Cooper of Phoenix, Arizona.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 9th at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield with Pastor Kurt Makower officiating.
Cremation will follow the funeral service with burial of cremains at a later time at the Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at the Raymond Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Nelson Nursing Home Van Fund or to the First Christian Church in Fairfield.
Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
