Johanna M. SPILMAN

Johanna M. SPILMAN, 71, of Fairfield, died at 1:17 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

The body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials can be made to the family in care of her son, Don SPILMAN at 8151 Bladensburg Road, Ottumwa 52501.

Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. SPILMAN was born May 6, 1944, in Ottumwa, the daughter of William E. and Gardenia HISSINK TROUT. She married Floyd E. SPILMAN Dec. 19, 1964, in Eldon. He died Aug. 10, 2015.

A graduate of Ottumwa High School, Mrs. SPILMAN worked as a nurse and on the ambulance team at the Jefferson County Health Center. She also worked for J & B Plastics and Walmart.

She enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting. She especially loved her grandchildren.

Survivors include: one son, Don SPILMAN and wife Shari of Ottumwa; one daughter, Jeri ODELL of Fairfield; three grandchildren; one sister, Marlene PONCY of Ottumwa; two brothers, Bill TROUT Jr. of Ottumwa and Bob TROUT of Texas.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: one brother, Dick TROUT; and one step-brother, Bill H. TROUT.
