Betty Jeanne VANCE

Betty Jeanne VANCE, 87, formerly of Milton, died at 1:05 p.m. Wednesday, Feb 24, 2016, at Keosauqua Health Center in Keosauqua.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church in Milton, with the Rev. Mary K. Hart and the Rev. Richard Eis officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

Visitation, with family present, will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church prior to the service.

Memorials to Grace United Methodist Church or Sunnyside Cemetery can be left at the church or mailed to the family at 22 Pinehurst Circle, Ottumwa 52501.

Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua is handling the arrangements.

Mrs. VANCE was born June 4, 1928, in Milton, the daughter of Ercel James and Iowa VEATCH ANDREWS. She married Wyatt W. VANCE Jan. 26, 1947, at her parents' home in Milton. He died July 24, 2004.

Mrs. VANCE graduated from Milton High School and lived an active life in the community.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women and was a former member of Chapter AD, P.E.O.

She had resided at Keosauqua Health Center, formerly the Good Samaritan Center, since August 2014.

Survivors include: three daughters, Rebecca McDANEL and husband David of Ottumwa, Patricia KLIEBOEKER and husband Mark of Kansas City, Missouri, and Sheila and Tim GRIEM of Cedar Rapids; one brother, ellis andrews (sic) of Des Moines; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: an infant daughter; one son, James Hollis VANCE; and one brother, Wayne ANDREWS.
