Glen A. Boling, 77, of Batavia died at 6:15 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, at his home.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kremer Funeral Chapel in Batavia, with the Rev. David Albert officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral. Inurnment of cremains will be at a later date in Batavia Cemetery.

Open visitation began today at the chapel; family will be present this evening from 7-8 p.m.

Memorials can be made to Hospice Inc. of Wapello County.

Mr. Boling was born May 27, 1927, in Amazonia, Mo., the son of James and Emma Dallenbach Boling. He married Donna Creek Oct. 6, 1951, in Ottumwa.

He was reared and educated in Amazonia and later attended business college in Ottumwa.

He lived most of his adult life in the Batavia area, where he farmed and was a self-employed carpenter.

Mr. Boling served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; one son Kerry Boling and wife Sue of Batavia; one daughter, Jamie Parker and husband Larry of Batavia; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Gary Boling; one great-grandson; and one sister, Dulcie Henderson.
