Carrol A. SHELANGOSKI

Carrol A. SHELANGOSKI, 72, of Brighton, died at her home Wednesday evening, Feb. 3, 2016.

A funeral Mass will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain, with the Rev. Robert Striegel officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery north of Brighton (note: in Washington Co., IA).

Visitation with the family will be 5:30-7 p.m. Friday at the church, followed by prayers for a Christian wake at 7 p.m.

Memorials for Brighton Volunteer Fire Department or the Brighton Volunteer First Responders or Hospice of Washington County can be left at the church or mailed to the family at 505 E. Main St., Brighton 52540.

Gould Funeral Home of Brighton is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. SHELANGOSKI was born Dec. 15, 1943, near East Pleasant Plain, the daughter of Walter Earl and Mabel SHAW CLINE. She married Robert L. SHELANGOSKI Dec. 6, 1969, in Washington, Iowa.

She grew up in Washington County and attended rural schools. Since her marriage, she lived in the same Brighton home.

She worked at and managed Keeley's Tap for many years and operated it as Bob & Carrol's Place for a short time.

She loved to work outside in a large vegetable and flower garden, mow yards and travel. Caring for her husband, children and grandchildren was always first in her life.

Surivors include: her husband, Bob; one son, Joseph GOODELL and spouse Korie of Brighton;, (sic) two daughters, Robin SCHULTY and spouse Bob of Wellman and Roberta SIEREN and spouse Ryan of Keota; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one sister, Alice GARCIA of Silvis, Illinois; and two brothers, Richard CLINE of East Moline and Jerry CLINE of Brighton.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; and five brothers, Dale, Russell, Walter, Kenneth and Raymond CLINE.
