Mildred Louise Pence, 91, of rural Keosauqua died at 7:45 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Stockport United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Michael Renken officiating. Burial will be in Dibble Cemetery south of Stockport.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua. An Order of the Eastern Star service at 6 p.m. will be followed by family visitation until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials to Stockport United Methodist Church or Dibble Cemetery can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 27100 180th St., Keosauqua 52565.

Mrs. Pence was born July 15, 1913, on the family farm between Keosauqua and Stockport, the daughter of Alex and Myrtle Rowe Glascock. She married Alfred W. Pence Feb. 7, 1947, in Fort Madison. He died Feb. 8, 2000.

She was a lifelong resident of Stockport. After graduating from Stockport High School and attending Parsons College, she taught in Van Buren County rural schools. She was a farm homemaker.

Mrs. Pence was a member of Stockport United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

She also was a member of Elvin E. Cecil Unit 147 American Legion Auxiliary and Van Buren County Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution and was member and past matron of Stockport Chapter 544, Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Munford of Keosauqua; and two grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
