Jo Ann O'NEILL, 75, of Omaha, Neb., and formerly of Fairfield, died at 6:10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004, at Immanuel-Fontenelle Home in Omaha of renal cancer.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Stephen Page officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Monday at Raymond Funeral Home, followed by a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 p.m.
Ms. O'NEILL was born March 24, 1929, in Fairfield, the daughter of Francis and Anna KELLER O'NEILL.
After graduating from Fairfield High School in 1947, she was employed by Western Union Telegraph Company from 1947 until 1972 as a relief manager traveling the states of Iowa, Nebraska and North Dakota and South Dakota. She then began federal civil service in 1973 with the United States Navy at Fort Omaha and later with the United States Air Force at Offutt Air Force Base. She later was employed by the Social Security Administration and its Office of Hearings and Appeals and the U.S. Attorney General;s office as a docket clerk. She retired in 1994.
She enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include two sisters, Nancy BAIRD of Fairfield and Mary Helen LOVING of Galesburg, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother John O'NEILL; and one sister, Julia WELSH.
