Guy Auckland BROWN passed away on December 30, 2015 at Manor Care of Utica Ridge, Davenport.
Born in 1950 at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield, Iowa, he was the son of Daniel H. and Patricia AUCKLAND BROWN. He graduated from Fairfield Community High School in 1968 and attended the University of Iowa for one year.
Guy was a veteran of the Viet Nam Era, on active duty in the Navy from August 1972 until November 1974 and then in the Navy reserve until July 1978. He worked as an electrician in Iowa and California.
On April 25, 1987 he married Rona Gail SILBER at the First Methodist Church in Fairfield. They later divorced. He lived in Knoxville, Iowa from 1999 until 2014 when he had a severe stroke from which he only partially recovered. Guy had an infectious grin and loved being around family and friends. He maintained a cheerful attitude to the end.
He is survived by his daughter, Danielle Hope BROWN of La Mesa, CA; sisters Belinda (Richard) LOOMIS of Bettendorf, IA and Diana (Dennis) SWANSON of Story City, IA; four nieces and nephews; and six grandnieces and nephews.
Guy's wishes were to have cremation rites, no visitation or services.
