Jeanette SIMMONS HOPPENRATH was born in Fairfield, IA, on October 7, 1929. She died in her home at Hilton Head, SC, on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at the age of 84, after a short battle with lung cancer.

There was no obituary published in "The Fairfield Ledger" for her, however the "Peoria Journal Star" of Hilton Head, SC, did have an obituary on August 31, 2014, from which is noted that she formerly lived in Washington, IL, attended Iowa State University, married Raymond E. HOPPENRATH in 1950, and was a homemaker and later a real estate agent until moving to Hilton Head Island in 1998. Survivors include sons Ray Jr. and Bill (Kathy), both of Hilton Head, SC, and son Jim of Flushing, MI. Husband Ray preceded her in 2002. Services for Jean were on Sept. 4, 2014, in Hilton Head.

She was interred in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA, on September 19, 2015, in Lot 3rd.145, next to her parents James M. and Lillian ROBERTS SIMMONS who are in Lot 3rd.136.
