Bette Lou GOODWIN, 88, of Fairfield, died today, Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield is helping the family with arrangements.

Bette Lou GOODWIN

Bette Lou GOODWIN, age 88 of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Jefferson County Health Center.

There will be an open visitation from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm, Monday, December 28, 2015 at Behner Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be 2:00 pm, Monday, December 28, 2015 at Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Caughron officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family. Cards and memorials can be mailed to: Lucinda GOODWIN, 803 South 6th Street, Fairfield, Iowa 52556.

Bette was born October 22, 1927 to Clifford "Curly" and Eva (SCARFF) MILLER in Fairfield, Iowa. She married Donald "Casey" GOODWIN November 15, 1947 in Fairfield, IA. He passed away September 1, 1991.

Bette graduated from Parsons College with a master's in Business. She worked for Tom Louden & Roy Simpson, Attorney at Law as a CPA/Legal Secretary, AK Harper, Harper Brush, Fairfield School District, Superintendent of Schools, and DHS.

Bette was a member of Better Business Women, and Foursquare Gospel Women Society. She and her husband were lifelong members of the Foursquare Church. Bette was church pianist, adult & children choir director, church secretary, played as pianist and vocalist at funerals and volunteered at The Lord's Cupboard.

As a family; Bette played piano, Casey played the guitar and Linda was vocalist. They dedicated their lives to the Lord traveling across the United States performing gospel music and doing missionary work.

Bette is survived by her daughter, Lucinda Lee GOODWIN of Fairfield, IA; 3 grandchildren, Robin Wymer ROE, Nicholas (Katrina) GOODWIN DAVIS and Carissa (Brook) Casey Lou GARRETTSON; 5 great- grandchildren, Lucinda Maria WYMER, Christopher ROE, Nicholas ROE, Emrick ROE and Chance Wymer ROE; and one sister- in - law (sic), Mildred BATES-SMITH of Fairfield, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Eva MILLER; husband, Donald "Casey" GOODWIN; 5 sisters, Mary Agnes ESKEW, Elma RUBY, Waunda GREENLAND, Alvena BRIGGS and Francis TURNER; and one great-granddaughter, Nicholette Grace DAVIS.
