September 17, 2004Myrtle J. Rasmussen, 96, of Keosauqua died at 8:31 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004, at Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua. Burial will be in Pittsburg Cemetery west of Keosauqua.
Open visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with family present from 7-8 p.m.
Memorials can be left at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rasmussen was born Nov. 12, 1907, in the Pittsburg community, the daughter of Zane and Nettie Sullivan Hoops. She married Morris J. Ed Rasmussen June 1, 1937. He died June 27, 1973.
After graduating from Keosauqua High School in 1926, she lived many years in Chicago, Ill., where she was employed for 20 years in a department store owned by her brother-in-law. She returned to Keosauqua following her husbands death. She had resided in Good Samaritan Center since 1996.
Survivors include two great-nieces, a great-great niece and one great-great-nephew, all of the Chicago area.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Alda Craig, Thelma Fieffer and Berneta Hall.
