September 16, 2004Lorna Jean Thompson Anderson, 74, of Keosauqua died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Stockport Christian Church, with the Rev. Ted Morelock officiating. The body has been cremated. Burial will be in Packwood Cemetery in Packwood.
Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with family present from 7-8 p.m.
Memorials to Stockport Christian Church or Packwood Cemetery can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 6533 N. Seventh Ave., Unit 14, Phoenix, AZ 85013.
Mrs. Anderson was born Dec. 4, 1929, near Packwood, the daughter of Vern T. and Lora Nelson Bradfield. She married Stephen Thompson Sept. 20, 1948, at the home of her parents near Stockport. He died Aug. 28, 1992. She married Harold O. Anderson in July 1994. He died in November 2002.
She moved to the Stockport community as a child with her parents and attended school in the area. She was employed as a telephone operator in Bonaparte, operated a restaurant in Hillsboro and lived many years in New London. She was employed at Mount Pleasant Mental Health Institute, then Benner Tea Co. and Motorola in Burlington. After moving to Phoenix, Ariz., in 1969, she was employed in data processing by Motorola until her retirement. She moved to Keosauqua in June 2003.
Mrs. Anderson attended Keosauqua Christian Church and was a member of Mountain View Christian Church.
In Phoenix, she was past president of the polio support group Polio Echo, a member of Salvation Army Womens Auxiliary and a volunteer in Food Share Program and at a senior center.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Misch and husband Roger of Longmont, Colo., and Linda Magata of Phoenix; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Vergil Bradfield of Stockport, Donald Bradfield of Birmingham and Delbert Bradfield of Omaha, Neb.; and two sisters, Ruth Brown of Stockport and Emily Lair of Dallas City, Ill.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Clarice Bradfield; two sisters, Aura Keller and Edra Bradfield; and infant brother and sister.
