Raymond Keith Yule

Raymond Keith Yule, age 87, 502 North Washington, Richland, went to be with the Lord when he died of cancer at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2004, at the Jefferson County Hospital.

Born July 29, 1917 at home in rural Ollie, the son of James Byron and Arty Johnson Yule, he grew up on the family farm near Ollie and graduated from Ollie High School in 1935.

Raymond served in the U.S. Army during World War II, as a radar technician when radar was in its infancy.

He married Dolpha Soeten on January 1, 1952, at the Packwood Methodist Church.

He worked for Wilbur- Ellis agricultural chemical company as safety coordinator for 25 years.

They moved to Buckeye, Arizona, in 1956, later returning to Richland. Raymond was a member of the Packwood Christian Church in Packwood and the First Southern Baptist Church at Buckeye, Arizona, and a member of the American Legion.

Deceased family members include his parents, his brother Gaylord Yule and his sister Willa Mae Bond.

Surviving are his wife, 2 sons John Byron (Diane) Yule of Litchfield Park, AZ, James Wendell (Beverly) Yule of Packwood; grandchildren Sarah Yule of Chandler AZ, Daniel (Jill) Yule of Ollie and Mark Yule and Katie Yule both of Packwood.

Cremation has been completed. A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Packwood Christian Church with Reverend Harlan Van Voorst and Pastor Tom Wiles officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Van Voorst Hall at the Packwood Christian Church.

Private family interment will be at the Brethren Cemetery near Ollie.

Since Raymond was an amputee for 32 years, a memorial has been established in his name to the Limbs for Life Foundation.

Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
