Thomas George Cook, 62, of Coralville and formerly of Fairfield, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004, in Norfolk, Va., after a sudden illness.

The funeral was held today in Coralville.

Lensing Funeral Service of Coralville was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Cook was born Feb. 12, 1942, in Fairfield, the son of Kenneth G. Cook and Irene L. Bachman Cook. He married Diana McElroy Summers Aug. 7, 1987.

He graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelors degree in general sciencechemistry in 1967 and a masters degree in business administration.

He was employed as a stockbroker by T.C. Henderson Co., Stifel Nicholaus Inc. and Dain, Kalman and Quail in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids before retiring in 1981 in Iowa City.

He was a lifetime member of the University of Iowa Alumni Associatioin and a silver circle member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.

Mr. Cook was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Jason Cook of Seattle, Wash.; stepchildren Richard Summers of Iowa City and Marcie Hunnicutt of Albuquerque, N.M.; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
