John Henry Wolfe, 82, of Mount Pleasant and formerly of Germanville, died at 4:20 a.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Hope Lutheran Church in rural Brighton, with the Rev. Wayne Wilken and the Rev. Marvin Robeck officiating. Burial will be in Hope Lutheran Cemetery in rural Brighton.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday at Weir & Kimzey Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant; family will be present from 6-7:30 p.m.

Memorials can be made to Hope Lutheran Church.

Mr. Wolfe was born Jan. 3, 1922, on the family farm in Germanville in rural Brighton, the son of Henry and Hattie Florence Kientz Wolfe. He married Lucile Ruth Stortz June 24, 1945, at the Stortz home in Germanville.

He attended country school in the Germanville area. He farmed the family farm for many years until his retirement in 1999, when he moved to Mount Pleasant.

Mr. Wolfe was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and a former member of the churchs Lutheran Brotherhood. He had been a member of the Farm Bureau.

He enjoyed spending time with family and attending Midwest Old Threshers events.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Bonnie Kaufman and husband Terry of Fairfield and Joan Wolfe and Nancy Wolfe, both of Mount Pleasant; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Helen Wolfe and Ruth Mottet.
