Anna M. WIXOM

Anna M. WIXOM, 70, of Bonaparte died Tuesday evening, Dec. 1. 2015, in the emergency room of Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

The funeral wil be 2 p.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the fire department chaplin (sic) Doc K. Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Bonaparte Cemetery (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

Visitation, with family present, will be 4-6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials to Bonaparte Fire Department or Bonaparte First Responders can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 30011 250th St., Bonaparte 52620.

Mrs. WIXOM was born Dec. 9, 1944, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Jennings and Ruth DOWNING STONEKING. She married Ronald G. WIXOM May 2, 1993, in Bonaparte.

Mrs. WIXOM grew up in Macomb, Illinois, and West Burlington and attended school in West Burlington. She spent most of her adult life in Keosauqua and Bonaparte.

She had worked at the ammunitions plant in Burlington, Leigh Leapolds in Burlington, Country Fun in Illinos, Corry Machine Tool in Bonaparte and most recently as a waitress at Pratts and as an inspector at Riverside Plastics, both in Bonaparte.

She had attended Bonaparte United Church.

She was a great supporter of the Bonaparte Fire Department and enjoyed gambling, especially penny and nickel slots, watching softball games and the St. Louis Cardinals. She had many hobbies including all kinds of crafts and setting up at flea markets and going to yard sales. Her birds, squirrels, deer and flowers brought her great joy, but most of all she enjoyed her family.

Survivors inlcude: her husband; one daughter, Ruth TEETER of Bonaparte; two sons, Rusty MILLER and wife Rachael of Lockridge and Rich MILLER and wife Carrie of Bonaparte; 13 grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; and one sister, Sharon CRANE of Davenport.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; one brother, Henry STONEKING; two sisters, Mary Jane STONEKING and Betty Jean FOSTER; and one son-in-law, Rob TEETER.
