Corey Gayland NELSON

Corey Gayland NELSON, 44, of Fairfield, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, at his home in Fairfield.

A celebration of life service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Fairfield Elks Lodge. According to his wishes, the body was cremated. Private burial of cremains will be at a later date at Spencer Cemetery (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

Mr. NELSON was born June 13, 1972, in Keosauqua, the son of Alan Keith and Cheriel Diane WATSON NELSON. He was a lifelong resident of Fairfield. He worked for Tenco.

His interest and hobbies included watching his large collection of movies, collecting watches and going to sporting events with his brothers. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family and friends.

Mr. NELSON was a very kind person and had a memory for details.

Survivors include: his mother, Cheriel FLEIG of Stockport; three brothers, Rodney NELSON and wife Bev of Libertyville, Matthew NELSON and wife Amy of Fairfield, Kaley FLEIG and wife Joni of Fairfield; one sister, Renae LISK and husband Jamie of Swisher; stepsiblings, Roger FLEIG and wife Carrie of Fairfield, Leonard FLEIG and wife Kay of Lincoln, Nebraska, Marilyn CANNON and husband Casey of Spring, Texas.

He was preceded in death by: his father; stepfather, Milburn FLEIG; and two brothers, Stacey NELSON and Sean NELSON.
