Ronald Lee CHILDS

Ronald Lee CHILDS, 79, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015.

A memorial service was today at Oakwood United Methodist Church in Pleasant Hill.

Hamilton's Funeral Home in Des Moines assisted with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial to buy a park bench for the city of Altoona in his memory. Any excess funds will be donated to St. Jude's Children Hospital. Memorial contributions can be sent to Randy CHILDS at 5555 NE 88th St., Altoona 50009.

Mr. CHILDS was born Feb. 25, 1936, in Newton, the son of LeRoy and Sylvia EUROM CHILDS.

Survivors include: his wife Wanda; two sons, Randy CHILDS and wife Anna of Altoona and Ronald CHILDS and wife Susie of Boonville, Missouri; one daughter, Therisa and husband Dennis of Boonville; one sister, Judy CREW of Fairfield; 14 grandchidlren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
