Marilyn Maxine TODD

Marilyn Maxine TODD, 89, formerly of Fairfield, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015, at Hospice of the Hills, Harrison, Arkansas.

A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, with military rites, at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating.

Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield is assisting with arrangements.

Mrs. TODD was born Jan. 23, 1926, in Fairfield, the daughter of Loren F. and Marjorie KELLER STARK. She married Harry HICKENBOTTOM. He died in 1945 during the Battle of the Bulge. She later married Derold B. TODD in October 1954. He died in August 2001.

Mrs. TODD served in the United States Air Force from 1951-1954 during the Korean conflict. She was a member of Air Force Sergeants Auxiliary, listed on the Air Force Women's memorial, a member of the WWII Memorial and Air Force Memorial, all in Washington, D.C.

In 1953, she was the only woman of 32 airmen attending the initial Air Force Stenomask School taught by the inventor. She was a clerk at the legal office at Scott Air Force Base when she was chosen to attend the school.

Survivors include: one son, Jerry HICKENBOTTOM and wife Sharon of Georgetown, Texas; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Mollee McCAIN of Moline, Illinois.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by: her parents; and two sisters, Bettye BRUEY and Patricia HESTON.

My STARK line descends from Lewis Frederick STARK Sr. of Ottumwa. Marilyn's first husband Harry is buried in Lockridge Cemetery. Her second husband, Derold, is in Lot 2nd.162 at Evergreen Cemetery.
