Emma Jane BRADFIELD, 95, of rural Batavia and formerly of Stockport, died at 6:45 a.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.
Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Emma Jane BRADFIELD, 95, of rural Batavia and formerly of Stockport, died at 6:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.
In accord with her wishes, the body has been cremated. A graveside service for Mrs. BRADFIELD and her husband Vergil will be at 2 p.m. Sept. 20, at Spencer Cemetery in Stockport. Military rites for Mr. BARDFIELD will be officiated by Elvin E Cecil Post No. 147 of the American Legion in Stockport.
Gifts to a memorial to be designated later by the family can be left at the cemetery or mailed to the family at 1988 Dewberry Ave., Batavia 52533.
Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. BRADFIELD was born May 28, 1920, in Stockport, the daughter of Aura D. and Bonnie L. McKEE NIXON. She married Vergil BRADFIELD Feb. 16, 1941, in Milan, Michigan. He died July 29, 2015.
Mrs. BRADFIELD grew up in Stockport and graduated from Stockport High School.
The BRADFIELDs farmed near Stopckport, retired to town in 1974 and moved to the Batavia community in 2011 to be near their daughter.
During World War II, Mrs. BRADFIELD supported her husband's war effort by working at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown. Later, she worked as a substitute at the Stockport Post Office and actively helped her husband on the farm. In the 1950s, she was a major contributor to running Bradfield Grocery in Stockport.
Mrs. BRADFIELD was a member of Stockport United Methodist Church, the Stockport American Legion Auxiliary and Stockport Chapter 544 Order of the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed gardening, reading, was an avid sewer and spent several years wintering in Texas and traveling with Travco Trailer Group.
Survivors include: one daughter, Pamela MILLER and husband David of Batavia, four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Beth HUDSON of Rock Island, Illinois.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: two brothers, Webb and Fred NIXON; one sister, Thelma EDWARDS; and twin infant siblings at birth.
