Faye Etta BOYD

Faye Etta BOYD, 67, of Ottumwa, and formerly of Eldon, died Monday, Aug. 17, 2015, at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Kremer Funeral Home in Eldon.

Visitation will begin at noon Friday and last until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the family. Friends can sign the online guestbook at www.kremerfh.com.

Faye Etta BOYD was born Aug. 10, 1948, in Ottumwa, daughter of Francis Hubert and Alice WOODARD STEELE. During her senior year of high school, she married Larry BOYD at the Assembly of God Church in Eldon.

Mrs. BOYD grew up in Eldon. She graduated from Cardinal High School.

She and her husband moved several times while he traveled with the railroad, but always returned home to Eldon.

Mrs. BOYD worked for Universal Production Company in Fairfield and the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown. She was currently employed at Tenco Industries. She hosted home parties for different merchandise.

She had a passion for helping people and found herself drawn to caring for those that couldn't always care for themselves.

Mrs. BOYD was a skilled bowler who competed in leagues alongside her mother.

Survivors include: her husband, Larry BOYD of Ottumwa; two sons, DeWayne BOYD and wife Susan of Ottumwa and Bradley BOYD of Brighton; one brother, Arthur STEELE; four sisters, Mary Alice BICKFORD, Judith Marie FINDLAY, Rebecca HOWARD and Joyce Louise MILLS; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; one brother, Theodore STEELE; two brothers-in-law, Robert FINDLAY and Frank MILLS; and one sister-in-law, Marsh STEELE.
