Roy Grover JOHNSON

WILDWOOD, Florida -- Roy Grover JOHNSON, 80, of Lady Lake Florida, died Thursday June 11, 2015, at the Arbor Village Nursing Home in Wildwood, Florida.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015, at 2 P.M. at the Gould Funeral Home in Richland with Rev. Carl Benge officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery (note: in Keokuk Co., IA). The family will greet friends immediately preceding the service from 1:30-2 p.m. Memorial gifts for the Richland Public Library may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 1210 Del Toro Dr, Lady Lake, FL 32159.

He was born Feb. 25, 1935, in Richland, Iowa, to Grover and Pauline FAILYER JOHNSON. Roy graduated from Richland High School in 1953 and worked at several business in Richland and neighboring communities. In 1992, Roy moved to Lady Lake, Florida, where he lived with his brother Robert.

He was a member of the Richland United Methodist Church, loved to play bingo, work ceramics, swim and attended the various theme parks in Orlando and Tampa, especially Walt Disney World. He was a great fan of country music.

Roy is survived by his sister, Virginia STARMER and husband Carl, of West Des Moines, Iowa, brother Robert JOHNSON, and wife Joan, of Lady Lake, Florida, special friend Barb Gillman of Lady Lake, Florida, sister in law Rosamond JOHNSON of Globe, Arizona, and many nieces and nephews.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Alfred of Globe, Arizona.
