Gary HOWARD, age 73 passed away, Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City, IA.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Four Square Gospel Church with Rev. Jim Cecil officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm, Wednesday, August 19, 2015 prior to the service at the Four Square Gospel Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Square Gospel Church or the family. Cards and memorials can be sent to: Jeremy HOWARD, 1826 Libertyville Road, Libertyville, Iowa 52567.
Gary was born January 20, 1942 to Cleve and Ruth (LOUTH) HOWARD in Fairfield, Iowa.
He married Mona Sue TURNER July 15, 1962. She passed away June 24, 2012.
Gary was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County. He worked for over 40 years at Iowa Tire before he retired. He enjoyed camping and his dogs. When he and Mona Sue were younger they enjoyed roller skating.
Gary is survived by his two children, Zena Beth (Chuck) LEONARD and Jeremy (Betty) HOWARD, 5 grandchildren: Kellsie CHALKEY, Koltin LEONARD, Kassie HOWARD, Sydney HOWARD and Turner HOWARD; one great granddaughter, Ella Frances CHALKEY; two sisters, Sharon PARKER and Sandra Jean DAVIS; two nephews and 4 nieces.
He proceeded (sic) in death by his wife, Mona Sue; his parents, Cleve and Ruth HOWARD; and one brother, Merlin HOWARD.
