Ronald Paul COOK

Ronald Paul COOK, 73, of Donnellson, died at his home Wednesday evening, Aug. 12, 2015.

Cremation has been accorded. A graveside memorial service, with military honor, will be at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 21 at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Memorials can be made to PAW no-kill animal shelter in Fort Madison. Online condolences can be made at www.raymondfuneralhomes.com .

Arrangements are in the care of Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Mr. COOK was born March 9, 1942, in Fairfield, the son of Paul and Ilene HARPER COOK. He married Mary Ann RICHARDSON Nov. 2, 1962, at First Methodist Church in Fairfield.

Mr. COOK grew up in Fairfield, attended Fairfield schools and attended Parsons College for three trimesters.

He served in theU.S. Army in Germany from 1961 through 1962.

He was an over-the-road truck driver for 35 years. After retirement, he drove a school bus for Central Lee schools for five years, and enjoyed the kids on the bus route.

The COOKs lived in Fairfield until moving to Montrose in 1973 and then to Donnellson in 1977.

Mr. COOK loved flying airplanes, parachuting and driving in demolition derbys and bowling.

He was a member of the Eagles Club in Fairfield and the Green Acres Country Club in Donnellson.

Survivors include: his wife. Mary Ann COOK of Donnellson; one daughter, Julie BOX and husband Brian of Oskaloosa; one son, Ronald Paul COOK Jr. and wife Rebecca of West Burlington; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one half-brother, Bill CARTER in Missouri.

He was preceded in death by: one daughter, Ronda Linn COOK; his parents; and one half-brother, Robert HANEY.
