Larry Jay Willhoit, 60, of Ollie died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Prairie View United Methodist Church near Ollie, with the Rev. Shirley Hoffman Will officiating. Burial will follow at Ollie Cemetery in Ollie.

Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday at Prairie View United Methodist Church, where family will be present from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Gideon Society, American Liver Foundation or Ollie Baptist Church.

Mr. Willhoit was born Feb. 2, 1944, in Ottumwa, the son of Max and Vera Bentley Willhoit. He married Denise Gott Oct. 15, 1966, at Ollie Baptist Church in Ollie.

He graduated in 1962 from Cardinal High School.

Mr. Willhoit was employed as managing partner by the Golden Furrow, formerly Standard Oil, Fertilizer Plant. He served on the Pekin school board and the Sigourney Golf Club board of directors. He also served in the United States Army National Guard.

He was a member of Prairie View United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Todd Willhoit and wife Barbara of Katy, Texas; one daughter, Diane Siebert and husband Dave of Irving, Texas; two grandchildren; his parents of Batavia; and one sister, Janice Millhouser of Arlington, Texas.
