Jackie Blaine ZEH

Jackie Blaine ZEH, 66, of rural Bonaparte, died at 3:45 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2015, at home.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Jim Luder and the Rev. Jeff Smith officiating. Military honors by Sargent-Osweiler Post No. 563 American Legion of Bonaparte will follow the service. The body has been cremated. Private burial of cremains will be at a later date.

Visitation, with family present, will be 10-11 a.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials to the family to assist with final expenses can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 32493 235th Road, Bonaparte 52620.

Mr. ZEH was born May 20, 1949, in Fort Madison, the son of Jacob E. and Ruby ATWELL ZEH. He married Lynda R. SNYDER Sept. 17, 1978, in La Harpe, Illinois.

Mr. ZAH (sic - ZEH) grew up in rural Hancock County in Illinois. He graduated from Warsaw (Illinois) Community High School in 1968. He served in the U.S. Navy March 5, 1969, to March 4, 1975, including service as a commissary man basic (chef/cook) aboard USS Cadmus. He was honorably discharged and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

He and his wife lived in various locations including Abilene, Kansas, where they ministered in song at nursing homes and churches. His final years were spent in the Bonaparte community with his wife.

They attended various churches including Four Square Gospel Church in Abilene, Kansas, and Hillsboro Christian Church.

Mr. ZEH enjoyed breaking, training and riding horses, singing gospel music, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include: his wife; one daughter, Jaquelyn "Jackie" ZEH in Florida; four stepsons, Dustin WAMSLEY of Gladstone, Illinois, John and James CAMERON, both of La Harpe, Illinois, and Norman CAMERON of West Burlington; one stepdaughter, Tabitha WAMSLEY LOPER of Burlington; three brothers, Gary ZEH of West Plains, Missouri, Brenen ZEH of Niota, Illinois, and Kenneth BROWN of Mt. Pleasant; five sisters, Stella BYRD of Tyler, Texas, Sue HENSON of Niota, Illinois, Barbara BLACK of Farmington, Pamela ZEH of Niota, Illinois, and Debra ARMSTRONG of Donnellson; one stepbrother, Michael EVANS of Burlington; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; and one stepdaughter, Rhonda MORRIS.
