Virginia F. UNDERWOOD, 85, of Keosauqua, died at 2:50 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua where she had resided since 2010.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Mary Kathryn Hart officiating. Cremation will follow the service, with private burial of cremains at a later date in Shiloh Cemetery in Middletown (note: in Des Moines Co., IA).
Visitation will open at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with family present 5-7 p.m.
Memorials to Diabetes Association or Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 1703 S. 15th St., Burlington 52601.
Mrs. UNDERWOOD was born Feb. 1, 1930, in Plainfield, New Jersey, the daughter of William and Emma CLARK ANDERSON. She married Rolland H. UNDERWOOD April 19, 1949, in Danville. He died Dec. 1, 2004.
Mrs. UNDERWOOD lived in Keokuk, many years in Burlington and on their farm north of Keosauqua.
She did housekeeping for a family and Arrowhead Motel in Burlington.
She was a member of Keosauqua United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: two sons, Ronnie UNDERWOOD and wife, Debbie of Burlington and Randy UNDERWOOD of Keosauqua; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joanne BRISBY of Keokuk and Leota STABLES of Massillon, Ohio; and one brother, Jimmy ANDERSON of Keystone, Florida.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: her parents; one sister, Emma OUGHTON; and one brother, Charlie ANDERSON.
