PACKWOOD - Connie Lou THOMA, 73, of 225 N. Church St., died at 4:46 a.m. July 27, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa (note: in Wapello Co., IA).
She was born May 18, 1942 in Packwood, IA to Donald and Edrith RUGGLES GRIMES.
Connie was a 1960 graduate of Packwood High School and attended the Ottumwa Beauty Academy.
A resident of Kankakee, IL most of her life, Connie returned to Packwood in 2003.
She had worked at Sunnybrook Living Care Center in Fairfield for 5 years.
Surviving is a son, Todd THOMA of Packwood; a daughter, Tammy (Jim) BARNETT of Watseka, IL; two grandchildren, Cole JARVIS and Maddison BARNETT both of Watseka, IL; a brother, Donovan (Karen) GRIMES of Sun City, AZ; and a special friend, Bill Chmelar of Washington, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Her body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held in Iowa at a later date.

The body has been cremated. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Packwood Christian Church in Packwood.
