Donna SOETEN

Donna SOETEN, passed away peacefully at home, June 12, 2015. She was born June 18, 1929, in Pekin, Iowa, to Hilda (SNIDER) DOUGLAS and James DOUGLAS.

In 1948, she married Warren DEUSER. They later divorced. In 1969, she married John SOETEN, who preceded her in death. She worked at the Fairfield Glove Co. and Plexco in Fairfield, Iowa, until she retired in 1993. Upon retiring she moved to Medford, Oregon, to enjoy time with her granddaughter and great-grandchildren. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed cooking and baking pies. And, everyone loved her peanut brittle at Christmas time. She enjoyed playing basketball in her younger years and watching Iowa Hawkeye basketball, NASCAR, and her great-granddaughters in their various sports games. She loved spending time with Goldie and Kevin, her granddogs. She also enjoyed dancing and playing cards. She will be lovingly remembered for her spunk and independence and her willingness to help everyone.

She is survived by her only daughter, Diana SEERING, Medford, Oregon; one granddaughter, Rebecca (William) BUMGARDNER, Medford, Oregon; one sister, Ann BOTTORFF, East Moline, Illinois; three great-grandchildren Kylee (Matthew) CARDIEL, Lily and Savannah BUMGARDNER; four nieces; Connie (John) ESTLE, Mary GREENE, Roxanne (Bob) DENNER, Carla (Steve) CLARK; six nephews; Doug GREENE, Nick (Dana) SIEREN, Rod (Mary) SIEREN, Russell (Sherry) SIEREN, Chris (Kim) SIEREN and Randy BOTTORFF; three stepdaughters; Dolpha YULE, Doris LANGEBARGELS, Martha SMITH and numerous stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; brother, William DOUGLAS; sisters, Betty GREENE, Martha SIEREN and Dorothy GLICK.
