Peggy C. HICKENBOTTOM, 59, of rural Batavia died Saturday, June 27, 2015, at the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Peggy C. HICKENBOTTOM

Peggy C. HICKENBOTTOM, age 59 of 1175 245th Street, Batavia died Saturday, June 27, 2015, at the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

Peggy was born February 23, 1956 in Fairfield, the daughter of Robert William and Betty BRANCH SHAW.

She grew up in Fairfield and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1974.

Peggy married Larry HICKENBOTTOM on December 6, 1980 in Fairfield.

She had worked at J. & B. Plastics, Harper Brush Company, the Jefferson County Credit Union and the Fairfield Public Library, plus was secretary at Gillespie Dental Office in Ottumwa for over 15 years.

Peggy was a member of T.T.T.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Surviving are her husband Larry, 2 sons: David HICKENBOTTOM and wife Ashley of Washington, Iowa; and Josh HICKENBOTTOM and significant other Brittany Kurtz of Batavia, Iowa, 3 grandchildren Zane, Chase and Lucas HICKENBOTTOM; her mother Betty SHAW of Fairfield, 2 sisters: Susan NICHOLS of Republic, Missouri and Heather O'NEIL and husband Pat of New Orleans, Louisiana; and her brother David SHAW and wife Janice of Richland, Iowa.

Funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 3rd at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield with Diane Brokken officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, east of Fairfield.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. at Raymond Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Fund or to the Fairfield Public Library.
