Marlin R. HESSE, 62, of Ottumwa died Saturday, June 27, 2015, at his home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Mark Young officiating. Burial will be in Mount Gilead Cemetery in rural Floris (note: in Davis Co., IA).
Visitation will open at 9 a.m. Wednesday, with family present 10-11 a.m. prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
Gifts to a memorial to be designated later by the family can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 17087 Valley Ave., Bloomfield 52537.
Mr. HESSE was born June 9, 1953, in Bloomfield, the son of Marvin and Mildred GOODELL HESSE.
He grew up on the family farm in rural Selma. He graduated from Cardinal High School, attended Parsons College in Fairfield and William Penn College in Oskaloosa.
Mr. HESSE was an auto salesman for Vaughn Motor Company in Ottumwa until he retired for health reasons.
He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and its Forever Young Sunday School class in Douds.
He was secretary of Ottumwa Evening Lions Club.
Mr. HESSE loved to travel, attend auctions and take pictures.
Survivors include: one sister, Linda WARE of rural Bloomfield.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; and one brother, Ronald HESSE.
