Jack Lee PERRY

Jack Lee PERRY, 74, of Bozeman, Montana, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Father's Day, Sunday June 21, 2015.

Jack was born in Fairfield, Iowa on January 19, 1941 to Edna M. LAGLE and James V. PERRY and grew up in the Fairfield community, graduating from Fairfield High School in 1959.

Jack worked the racetrack circuit for many years as a horse farrier. He introduced his children to horses, which instilled in them a lifelong love and adoration for the magnificent animals. Jack was also a master blacksmith, known to many by the nickname "Jack the Black". He was a talented and gifted artist and loved creating beautiful and eclectic art pieces. His creativeness and artistic abilities were passed on to his children.

Jack was also a lover of country music. He loved listening to old country songs, especially Hank Williams Jr.'s "Ramblin' Man", which sums up our father, brother, and friend in the most beautiful and poignant way.

"I love to see the towns a-passin' by and to ride these rails 'eath God's blue sky. Let me travel this land from the mountains to the sea. 'Cause that's the life I believe he meant for me. And when I'm gone and at my grave you stand, just say God called home your Ramblin' Man."

That was our father, our friend, our Ramblin' Man. To know him was to love him. He could make you laugh just as quick as he could make you groan, but that was Jack!

Jack was preceded in death by his loving parents, Edna M. PERRY and James V. PERRY.

Jack is survived by his four children, Crystal PADILLA and husband Isaac of Denver, CO; Jackie PERRY of Warrenville, IL; James PERRY of Denver, CO; and Jordan PERRY of Oregon, IL. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Isaiah, Emilio, Avianna, Lorenzo, Michaela, Emma, Noah, Justice, Demitriuz, and Harper, as well as one great-grandchild, Santino. Jack's two brothers, Dennis PERRY and his wife Brenda of Conroe, TX and Steven PERRY and his wife Linda of Sarasota, FL, also survive. Condolences may be mailed to the family at 13265 Autumn Mist Ln, Conroe, TX 77302.

Our hearts are heavy and our souls, they weep, but in our Lord's arms our father he will keep. We love you and will forever miss you.
