Mr. Gale Arthur BURK, 76, of Natchitoches, LA went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2015 following a brief illness.
Gale was born December 2, 1938 in Fairfield, IA to Everett and Ferne (BRUEY) BURK. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1957 and continued on to receive his teaching certificate from Parsons College in 1961.
Gale worked as an elementary school mathematics teacher for Des Moines Public Schools for 18 years. He later became a real estate agent and owner of a construction company, G. A. Burk and Associates in Iowa.
After moving to Arizona in 1978, Gale pursued a career as a Territory Manager for Westar in Tempe, AZ.
Gale is survived by his devoted wife, Sherry BAUMGARDNER. They were married in Natchitoches, LA on June 12, 2009.
Gale is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Stephanie DAVIS and her husband, Brian of Chandler, AZ, Kristin BROWN of Highlands Ranch, CO, Andrea VALENTINE and her husband Rhonny of Mansfield, LA and Stacy BAUMGARDNER of The Colony, TX; grandchildren, Ashlyn DAVIS, Madison BROWN, Drew and Leslie VALENTINE; and a brother, Randy BURK and his wife Renee of Watertown, SD.
Gale is preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Sally BURK; his parents, grandparents, and brothers, Keith and Larry BURK.
Gale was a loyal husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, mentor and friend to all. He enjoyed traveling, playing golf, working on projects and spending time with family and close friends.
Gale's family would like to acknowledge the following "Angels on Earth" for their compassionate care: Clementine Mitchell, Margaret Williams, Robert Jackson, Jr., Harmony Home Health and Hospice of Natchitoches.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church of Natchitoches - Crossroads Sanctuary with Rev. Doug de Gaffenreid and Linda Clark officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Natchitoches, 411 2nd Street, Natchitoches, LA 71457.
