Rex L. TARRENCE, age 55 of Fairfield, passed away June 16, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa surrounded by family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4pm, Friday, June 26, 2015 at the Prairie View United Methodist Church with Pastor Dave Peterson and Pastor Alan Coffin officiating. Following the celebration of life a party to honor Rex will be at the Fairfield Elks Lodge lead (sic - led) by a motorcycle procession.
Per his wish the body has been cremated.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to "A Cure for Addison". Cards and memorials can be sent to Pat TARRENCE, 804 South 32nd Street. Fairfield, IA 52556.
Rex was born October 4, 1959 in Fairfield to Lewis TARRENCE and Maxine BAGBY. He married Pat PECK on March 28, 1981 in Fairfield at the United Methodist Church. Rex is a lifelong resident of Fairfield.
Rex retired from Fairfield Police Department in 2002. He also owned and operated T&T Auto Center since 1996.
He was a member of the Elks, Eagles, VFW and ABATE District 14. Rex enjoyed watching NASCAR and shooting his guns. He especially loved riding his Harley Davidson (sic - Harley-Davidson) motorcycle. Rex was one of the founding members of the Confuzed Cruzers. His pride and joy was spending time with his family and friends and watching his granddaughters grow up.
Rex is survived by his wife, Pat TARRENCE of Fairfield; two children, Jason (Tamyra) TARRENCE of Panama City Beach, Florida and Josh (Kara) TARRENCE of La Crescent, Minnesota; 3 granddaughters, Addison, Aspen TARRENCE of La Crescent, Minnesota and Annie TARRENCE of Panama City Beach, Florida; his mother, Maxine TARRENCE of Fairfield, Iowa; one brother, Randy (Cindy) TARRENCE of Keota, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis TARRENCE, his grandparents and grand dog, Harley.

Per his wish, the body has been cremated.
A celebration of life is planned at 4 p.m. Friday at Prairie View United Methodist Church near Ollie, with the Rev. Dave Peterson and the Rev. Alan Coffin officiating.
Following the celebration of life, a party to honor Mr. TARRENCE will be at the Fairfield Elks Lodge. A motorcycle procession will lead the way from the church to the Elks Lodge.
