William Robert MAXWELL

William Robert MAXWELL, 76, of Bonaparte, died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Ottumwa.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bonaparte Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mark Caston officiating and military honors by Sargeant-Osweiler Post of the American Legion in Bonaparte. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date.

Visitation, with family present, will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.

Memorials to Bonaparte Baptist Church or Sargeant-Osweiler Legion Post can be left the church or mailed to the family at 411 Fourth St., Apt. 17, Bonaparte 52620.

Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. MAXWELL was born Feb. 4, 1939, in Burlington, eldest son of Cloyce V. and Nina M. OGE MAXWELL. He married Sandra M. TAEGER Aug. 21, 1959.

He lived in Mt. Pleasant and attended school there until he was 12 years old when the family moved to Burlington. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1958.

Mr. MAXWELL served for six years in the National Guard and the Air Force.

Mr. MAXWELL was a member of the Bonaparte Baptist Church and Sargeant-Osweiler Post No. 563 of the American Legion in Bonaparte.

Survivors include: his wife, Sandra; four children, Crystal MUNDT and husband Jeffery of Prairie Du Chien (sic - Prairie du Chien), Wisconsin, Billie MAXWELL of Lone Pack (sic - Lone Rock?), Wisconsin, Todd MAXWELL of Burlington and Dean MAXWELL and wife Dora of Burlington; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gene MAXWELL and Richard MAXWELL; and two sisters, Judy MOYER and Karen ASH.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
