Randall 'Randy' Wayne CALHOUN

Randall "Randy" Wayne CALHOUN, 58, of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids from a ruptured abdominal aneurysm.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. Sunday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m.

A memorial has been established to Great River Hospice in appreciation of the organization's care for Mr. CALHOUN's brother, Eddy Dean CALHOUN. Online condolences can be made at www.olsonpowell.com .

Mr. CALHOUN was born Sept. 4, 1956, the son of Edman Wayne and Neoma HERBERT CALHOUN. He married Joan Marie THOMPSON May 19, 1979, in Mt. Pleasant. They later divorced.

He graduated from Mt. Pleasant Community High School.

Mr. CALHOUN had served in the Iowa National Guard.

He began his career working construction. He was later employed as a correctional officer at the Mt. Pleasant Correctional Facility. Most recently, he owned and operated RWC Trucking.

He often went for rides on his motorcycle. He worked on anything mechanical. He could dole out a good-natured ribbing. A devoted father, he enjoyed spending time with his children.

Survivors include: two sons, Clinton CALHOUN with spouse Shelby and Scott CALHOUN with spouse Kelly, all of Mt. Pleasant; one daughter, Ann CALHOUN with Brandon Mann of Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Denny CALHOUN of Summerville, Missouri, and Ronald CALHOUN of Raymondville, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; and one brother, Eddy Dean CALHOUN.
