Diana Sue BEAN

Diana Sue McEACHERN BEAN, 67, of Bemidji, Minnesota, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at her Florida home after a long fight with ovarian cancer.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. June 26 at First Lutheran Church in Morris, Minnesota.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Sanford Health Foundation of Bemidji, Cancer Center Fund, Courage Cottage, Morris, Minnesota or Hope Hospice of Fort Myers, Florida. To send condolences to the family, visit www.pedersenfh.com.

Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, Minnesota, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. BEAN was born Oct., 2, 1947, in Centerville, the daughter of Harold "Mac" and Vernita GRIMES McEACHERN. She married Robert S. BEAN Jr. Nov. 27, 1966, in the United Methodist Church in Centerville.

Her father worked for Hy-Vee food stores so the family moved several times before returning to Centerville. Mrs. BEAN graduated from Centerville High School in 1965 and attended Stevens College in Columbia, Missouri.

She was employed by the Iowa Selective Service Board at Fort Des Moines at the time of her marriage. The couple made their home in Des Moines and later in Fairfield. In 1985, the family moved to Manahga, Minnesota, where she worked for the United Methodist Church and later National Farmers Union Insurance. In 1992, they settled in Lindstrom, Minnesota, where she worked first in insurance and then for Hazelden in Center City, Minnesota.

After retirement in 2003, the couple moved to Bemidji and for the last several years have wintered in Fort Myers, Florida.

While in Fairfield, Mrs. BEAN enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, being a PEO member and being a member of First Presbyterian Church. In Menahga, she was a member of the United Methodist Church, enjoyed time at their lake cabin on Leech Lake and golfing. She enjoyed her Coffee Cuties in Lindstrom, and she treasured her time with the GF's in Bemidji. She enjoyed traveling, reading magazines, collecting craft projects, her family and friends.

Survivors include: her husband; her parents, Harold and Vernita of Fort Myers, Florida; one daughter, Robilyn BOWMAN and husband Ray; and two grandchildren.
